On Saturday, July 19, 2003 there was a a tragic accident, an accident that took yet another angel from this earth. Janea Versai Forde, 2 years old, is that angel. Her mother, Vivian Rodriguez, known to poets as True is known for her Hard Knock Life poems; undressing reality for the world to see. Janae was coming home with True after catching fireflies in a Queens park- when a biker came speeding down the street in his motorcycle and slammed into the rear door of True's Hundai. Besides True and Janae- Kia(6), Chanee(12), and Joshua(14) were also in the car. Kia is in critical condition, Chanee in gaurded condition, Joshua was treated and released from hospital, True was unharmed; Curtis Battle, the biker, also died. Please, keep True and family in your prayers and let her know that she's not in this alone. Let's not forget Curtis Battle...we all make our mistakes and no one should be denied prayer. For those of you who do not know, I lost my baby girl saturday night in a car accident. All who had the blessing of meeting her know that she was heaven sent. Though it pains me to know she's gone, I know that she would never want to see her Mami cry and be upset so....THE ESSENCE OF POETRY OPEN MIC SHOWCASE
